AFC Toronto rolls into Montréal Thursday for its final regular-season meeting with the league-leading Montréal Roses FC. Toronto (9-5-5, 32 points) currently sits third in the Northern Super League standings, while Montréal enters the match with an 11-4-4 record.

Thursday marks the fifth and final meeting between the two sides this season, with Toronto holding a 1-1-2 record against Montréal. All three previous meetings have been decided by two goals or fewer, setting the stage for another closely contested matchup at Stade Boréale.

Toronto enters Thursday’s match following a 0-0 draw against Calgary Wild FC at BMO Field last Sunday. Despite being held off the scoresheet, Toronto generated numerous opportunities and has continued to play strong football in recent weeks. Head coach Marko Milanović said the team remains confident heading into Thursday’s challenge, particularly after what he described as a strong run of performances over the past two months.

Montréal enters the match with the second-most goals scored in the league with 36, while Toronto has conceded a league-low 18 goals. The matchup will put Toronto’s defensive unit up against one of the league’s strongest attacks.

Montréal Roses FC enters Thursday’s match atop the Northern Super League standings with an 11-4-4 record. The Roses have scored 36 goals this season, the second-most in the league, and will host Toronto for the final time this season.

Since the arrival of defender Shelina Zadorsky and goalkeeper Sabrina D’Angelo, Toronto has recorded five clean sheets across eight matches. Sarah Rollins has credited the pair’s communication and leadership with helping strengthen the team defensively.

Cloey Uddenberg returned to the lineup last Sunday after serving a three-game suspension. During her time away from match action, Uddenberg continued training while watching her teammates compete, giving her a different perspective on the team and its opponents. She will look to build on her return against Montréal.

Despite the quick turnaround and travel, Milanović said the team is in a strong mental place and has confidence in its recent performances. Toronto has embraced challenging matchups throughout the season and will look to bring that same mentality against the league leaders.
