Who is eligible for the AFC Toronto Academy?
The Academy is designed for talented female footballers aged 14–18 with the ability and potential to develop within a high-performance environment.

How are players identified?
AFC Toronto Academy staff will proactively scout and identify players through the Club's own talent identification process.
The process is led by AFC Toronto, with the Academy building relationships across the Ontario soccer landscape and working with clubs, Ontario Soccer and Canada Soccer to maintain strong visibility of emerging talent.

Does a player need to play for a specific club or program to be considered?
No. AFC Toronto will identify players based on their current ability, future potential and fit within the Club’s development environment, regardless of where they currently play

Can players outside Ontario be considered?
Yes. Geography alone does not prevent an exceptional player from being considered.
The Academy is based in Toronto, so selected players must be able to participate in the program. Where appropriate, AFC Toronto may review recommendations and video or speak with a player's club and relevant provincial or national staff.

Are there open tryouts?
No. The AFC Toronto Academy will not hold open tryouts. Players will be identified through the Club's scouting and talent identification process.
Identified players may be invited to trial with the Academy in order for our staff to better evaluate players in the our environment.

Yes. The AFC Toronto Academy is a fully funded program. Families do not pay to be part of the program.
