AFC Toronto closes out the Northern Super League (NSL) regular season on Monday, October 26, hosting Halifax Tides FC at BMO Field in the club’s final match before the playoffs. With playoff positioning on the line, Toronto will look to finish the regular season with a strong performance and secure second place in the standings.

AFC Toronto currently sits third in the NSL standings with 38 points (10-8-6), two points behind Ottawa Rapid FC. Following Ottawa’s 1-0 loss to Montréal Roses FC on Friday, Toronto has the opportunity to move into second place with a win over Halifax. A victory would see Toronto finish the regular season ahead of Ottawa and secure second place heading into the postseason.

Toronto has recorded two wins and two draws against Halifax across their four meetings this season, with the most recent encounter ending in a draw on September 19. The sides will meet for the fifth and final time this season, with Toronto looking to build on its positive record in the season series.

AFC Toronto comes into Monday’s match following a loss against Calgary Wild FC on October 18, which ended the club’s seven-week unbeaten streak and marked its first-ever loss to Calgary. Toronto will look to respond in front of the home crowd as the regular season draws to a close.

Halifax, meanwhile, arrives in Toronto following a draw against league-leading Montréal Roses FC on October 17. The Tides have gone unbeaten in their three matches since their September 19 meeting with Toronto, recording four draws during that stretch. Halifax will look to maintain that run as it closes out its regular-season campaign and fights for the fourth and final playoff spot.

THE OPPONENT
Halifax Tides FC enters Monday’s match following a four-match unbeaten run, including a draw against league-leading Montréal Roses FC. With the season series against Toronto coming to a close, Halifax will look to secure a positive result on the road and finish the regular season on a strong note.
