Perez began her collegiate career at the University of South Florida (2019–2020), where she contributed to an AAC Championship-winning side and was named to the AAC All-Academic Team. She later transferred to Toronto Metropolitan University, where she played from 2021 to 2024. Across her three seasons, she appeared in 25 matches, scoring 10 goals and adding 2 assists. She was named the 2022–23 OUA Second Team All-Star, earned Team MVP honours, and was recognized as a U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian in her final season.

Perez is passionate about creating space for young women in sport and is known for her leadership on and off the pitch. Her background in criminology reflects her deep curiosity about the world — and her commitment to driving change. Before the season began, she completed her training at the Toronto Police Academy.
