Toronto, ON (October 7, 2026) – AFC Toronto continues to build for the future, signing defender Sarah Rollins to a contract extension through the 2028 Norther Super League Season.
Rollins, 21, has emerged as one of the league’s standout defenders during a breakout 2026 campaign. A consistent presence at the heart of AFC Toronto’s back line, Rollins has played every minute of every match for the club this season, helping anchor one of the league’s strongest defensive units.
Her performances have marked a significant step forward in her development since joining AFC Toronto, with her composure, consistency and commitment to improving every day, establishing her as a key part of the club’s long-term plans.
“We are delighted that Sarah has decided to commit her future to the club. Her progress over the last 18 months has been incredible, and she has developed into one of the very best defenders in the league,” said Billy Wilson, AFC Toronto Sporting Director. “Sarah is a player who is fully committed to her own development. She shows up every day ready to learn and improve, and has matured into one of the most reliable performers in the NSL. At just 21, she has already gained valuable experience at the professional level, and we believe there is still so much more to come from her. We’re excited to continue supporting her development and to see what she can achieve in an AFC Toronto shirt.”
Since joining the club, Rollins has continued to develop into a composed and dependable centre back, while playing an important role in AFC Toronto’s success on both sides of the ball. Her 2026 campaign has been a defining year in her young professional career, and her performances have earned praise from teammates and coaching staff alike.
“I’m incredibly excited to continue my journey with AFC Toronto and to keep growing with this club,” said Sarah Rollins. “Being born and raised in Toronto, it means a lot to represent this city and play in front of our fans. I’m committed to helping this team achieve everything we’re capable of, while continuing to challenge myself and develop as a player. I’m really proud of what we’ve built so far, and I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together over the next few years.”
Now committed to AFC Toronto through 2028, Rollins will continue her development in Toronto as the club builds around a core of young talent committed to the future of women’s professional soccer in Canada.
