TORONTO, ON (October 21, 2026) – AFC Toronto has extended midfielder April Lantaigne’s Contract through the 2027 Northern Super League season, with a club option for 2028, keeping the rising Canadian talent in Toronto as she continues to build on her recent performances.
One of AFC Toronto’s youngest signings, Lantaigne joined the club in January 2025 ahead of its inaugural season. Since then, she has continued to develop within the professional environment, bringing energy and versatility to the midfield. Her recent performances have seen her play crucial minutes for the club, highlighting the progress she has made and the potential she brings to the squad as she continues to take on greater responsibility.
“We are delighted that April has committed her future to the club,” said Billy Wilson, AFC Toronto Sporting Director. “April has developed tremendously within our environment over the past 18 months, and her continued growth is a testament to her hard work and commitment. She has had to be patient at times this season due to the strong performances of others, but I think everyone can see from her recent performances that she is a player with an incredibly high ceiling. We believe April has a very bright future ahead of her, and we are delighted that another talented young player from the GTA has chosen to continue her development with AFC Toronto.”
“I’m excited to keep building my career at AFC Toronto and see how far I can take my game here,” said Lantaigne. “The past two seasons have taught me a lot about what it takes to compete at this level, and I know there’s another level I can reach. I want to keep pushing myself in training, make the most of every opportunity and become a player the team can count on in big moments. I’m ready to put in the work and keep moving forward.”
Lantaigne is committed to AFC Toronto through the 2027 season, with a club option for 2028, as she looks to build on her recent progress and continue making an impact in the midfield.
