Sabrina D’Angelo, Kaylee Hunter and Shelina Zadorsky called up to Canada Women’s National Team for October FIFA international window

TORONTO, ON (September 22, 2026) - Sabrina D’Angelo, Kaylee Hunter and Shelina Zadorsky will represent Canada this October, earning call-ups to the Canada Women’s National Team for its upcoming two-match series against Denmark.

The AFC Toronto trio will join the national team for the October FIFA international window, with Canada set to face Denmark in Montréal, at Stade Saputo, on Friday, October 9 before heading to Toronto for a matchup at BMO Field on Monday, October 12.

The matches are an important opportunity for Canada to prepare on home soil ahead of the 2026 Concacaf W Championship in November, which will serve as the qualification pathway for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil and the LA28 Olympic Games.

The call-up continues a strong year of international representation for AFC Toronto, with all three players bringing significant experience to the Canadian program.

D’Angelo, who joined AFC Toronto earlier this year, has earned 24 senior caps for Canada since making her international debut in 2016. The goalkeeper has represented Canada at two FIFA Women’s World Cups and two Olympic Games, including Canada’s bronze-medal performance at Rio 2016.

Hunter, one of the emerging young players in Canadian soccer, has earned two senior caps for Canada since making her debut in March 2026. The forward enjoyed a breakout 2025 season with AFC Toronto, finishing second in the Northern Super League in scoring and earning the league’s Rookie of the Year honour. Hunter has also represented Canada at the U-17 and U-20 levels and recently competed with Canada at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland, scoring a hat trick in their match-up against France. 

Zadorsky, one of Canada’s most experienced defenders, has earned 119 senior caps since making her international debut in 2013. An Olympic gold medallist, Zadorsky has represented Canada at two FIFA Women’s World Cups and three Olympic Games, winning bronze at Rio 2016 before helping Canada capture Olympic gold at Tokyo 2020. She joined AFC Toronto in July.

Together, the three AFC Toronto players bring 145 senior international caps to Canada’s October camp, combining significant international experience with the emergence of one of the country’s rising young talents.
