The Canadian women’s national team returns to home soil this Thanksgiving weekend to take on Denmark in a pair of international friendlies as preparations continue for the 2026 Concacaf W Championship.

Canada enters the series following a 6-0 victory over Costa Rica in June, with two opportunities to build momentum ahead of the regional tournament.

Three AFC Toronto players will represent Canada in the series, with Sabrina D’Angelo, Kaylee Hunter and Shelina Zadorsky earning call-ups for the two matches.

Sabrina D’Angelo
D’Angelo makes her return to the Canadian squad for the two-match series against Denmark, bringing her experience as an international goalkeeper to Canada’s lineup.

Sabrina has earned 24 senior caps for Canada since making her debut in 2016, representing the country at two FIFA Women’s World Cups and two Olympic Games. She helped Canada capture bronze at the Rio 2016 Olympics

Kaylee Hunter
Hunter returns to the senior national team with two caps for Canada, following her recent tournament run with the U-20 team at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland. She capped off her campaign with a hat-trick against France.

Shelina Zadorsky
Zadorsky rejoins the senior national team following her most recent appearance for Canada on April 18, 2026, against Brazil during the FIFA Series in Cuiabá, Brazil, where Canada fell 1-0.

Shelina has earned 119 caps for Canada since making her senior national team debut in 2013, representing her country at three Olympic Games and two FIFA Women’s World Cups. She helped Canada win Olympic gold at Tokyo 2020 and bronze at Rio 2016.

The Opponent
Ranked 12th in the FIFA Women’s World Rankings, Denmark will provide a strong test for Canada ahead of the 2026 Concacaf W Championship. The Danes are coming off a successful World Cup qualifying campaign, finishing unbeaten in their group to secure a place at the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Led by captain Pernille Harder, Denmark also features key players Sofie Svava and Caroline Møller. The team closed out qualifying with back-to-back wins over Sweden (2-1) and Serbia (4-1), bringing plenty of momentum into the two-match series.
