Tied for the NSL Golden Boot, leading the league in shots on target and earning international recognition, Kaylee Hunter continues to establish herself as one of Canadian soccer's exciting young talents.
At 18 years old, Kaylee Hunter continues to make her mark.
After a breakout rookie campaign in the inaugural Northern Super League season, Hunter entered 2026 with heightened expectations. Rather than allowing the pressure to define her, she delivered another exceptional season, establishing herself as one of the league's most dangerous attacking players.
Hunter finished the regular season campaign tied for the NSL Golden Boot with 10 goals, while adding three assists. She also led the league with 41 shots on target, 12 more than the next closest player, underlining the consistency with which she threatens opposition goalkeepers.

Her performances earned her a place on the 2026 NSL Team of the Season, for a second year in a row, adding another significant milestone to what has already been an impressive start to her professional career.
For Hunter, the challenge this season was not simply repeating the success of her rookie year, but learning to navigate the expectations that came with it.
"Coming into last year, didn't really have any expectations for myself. So kind of just honestly took the league by storm," she reflected. "Obviously this season there was a lot of expectations on me and a lot of outside noise and pressure, but I try my best just to push that aside and just do what I do on the field."
That ability to stay focused has been central to her continued development. With 11 goals and three assists, Hunter has demonstrated that her breakout season was no exception, but rather the beginning of something much bigger.
Her growth has also extended beyond the club level. In 2026, Hunter represented Canada at the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, gaining valuable experience on the international stage, and earned minutes in a set of senior Canadian Women's National Team friendlies against Denmark.
For a player still in her teens, those opportunities speak to both her talent and the trajectory of her development.
Despite the growing recognition, Hunter remains grounded in the approach that has brought her success.
"I like to go into every game the same with the same goal, same mindset," she said. "Just staying focused every chance I get."
She is also quick to recognize the importance of the teammates around her, acknowledging that her individual performances are built on the support and hard work of the entire group.
Now with another standout season behind her, Hunter has firmly established herself among the NSL's elite attacking players. Her Team of the Season selection is further recognition of what she has accomplished, but at just 18, there is plenty more to come.
For Hunter, the best may still be ahead.
