Fontana begins her professional career with AFC Toronto after gaining pre-professional experience with San Francisco Glens, where she made eight appearances and contributed four goals across the 2023 and 2024 summer seasons.
INTERNATIONAL
Fontana has represented the United States at the youth international level, earning five appearances across the U-17 and U-19 age groups.
COLLEGE
Fontana played collegiately at University of California, Berkeley from 2019 to 2025, making 74 appearances and scoring nine goals under Neil McGuire. Her time at California was highlighted by key attacking contributions, including a game-winning goal against Stanford and her Goal of the Year strike in 2023. Academically, she completed a double major in Media Studies and Political Economics, while also earning graduate certificates in Business Administration, Data Analytics, and Entrepreneurship.
YOUTH
Mia Fontana developed through the San Jose Earthquakes academy from 2017 to 2019 under Andres Deza, making over 60 appearances and scoring 31 goals in 2018. Earlier in her career, she played under Mikey Varas at Burlingame FC, one of her first club coaches. Both Deza and Varas were pivotal to her development.
