ACQUIRED 
Announced by AFC Toronto in July 2025, Burns brings international experience and versatility to the squad, strengthening the team’s defensive and attacking transitions on the flank. 

 

TRANSACTIONS 

Signed with AFC Toronto in July 2025 during the transfer window, and subsequently extended her contract through 2027. 

 

PROFESSIONAL 
Burns began her professional career in the National Women’s Soccer League, where she was selected by the Utah Royals in the 2024 NWSL Draft and went on to make 24 appearances during her rookie season. She later competed in Europe with FC Fleury 91 in France’s Première Ligue, gaining experience in one of Europe’s top domestic competitions before joining AFC Toronto. 

 

2025 – AFC Toronto 

Burns appeared in 12 matches (9 starts) during the 2025 Northern Super League season, recording 1 goal and 1 assist in 820 minutes played, including a memorable brace in a 2–0 win over Calgary Wild FC that showcased her offensive impact from the back. 

 

INTERNATIONAL 
Born in the United States, Burns represented the United States at the U16 and U17 levels before later joining Canada’s U20 Women’s National Team program. She played a key role at the 2022 CONCACAF Women’s U20 Championship, scoring twice and earning Best XI honors, before competing at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup. She later earned her first senior call-up with the Canadian Women’s National Team, making appearances during the Gold Medal Celebration Tour and CONCACAF qualifiers. 

 

COLLEGE 
Burns played four seasons at the University of Southern California, while pursuing a degree in International Business. Across four standout seasons at USC, she earned multiple conference and regional honours, including All-Pac-12 Second Team and All-Pacific Region recognition. Known for her pace, technical ability, and versatility on the right flank, she was a consistent starter and a key contributor to USC’s competitive success. 

 

YOUTH 
Burns began playing soccer at the age of five and developed through the U.S. youth club system before committing to USC at just 14 years old, establishing herself as one of the top young defensive prospects in North American women’s soccer. 

 

OFF THE FIELD 
Off the field, Burns is passionate about self-expression, music, art, and community-building. She has a burgeoning music career with singles on Spotify and Apple Music, enjoys painting and reading in her downtime, and is always seeking new creative outlets. A dedicated traveler, she takes every opportunity to explore new places during breaks in the season. Committed to empowering women and helping communities grow, Burns channels her creativity and energy both on and off the pitch.
